Can Polestar take on Tesla?
 
Volvo’s performance arm has announced it will become a standalone brand, making performance electric cars. It’s revealed its first car, Polestar 1, in Shanghai, and has its next two cars already in the pipeline.
 
The company is also looking to change the idea of traditional car ownership. Buyers will be offered a one-three year fixed contract. For a monthly fee, everything from the car, to insurance and depreciation and added extras will be taken care of.
