You may have heard that Alpina – that famous purveyor of massively torquey, massively opulent modified BMWs – is to be acquired by BMW at the end of 2025. What exactly this means, we’re still unsure, but it’s likely that some of the brand’s best-loved nameplates will be put out to pasture, including the sensational B3 saloon and its Touring counterpart.

The B3 isn’t going quietly, however. For the final year of production, Alpina has released a ‘GT’ version with more performance than ever and a price-tag to match.
