Tamiko will discuss recent and current projects. A current project: "In the early/mid 1980s I was responsible for the visual and physical form of the Connection Machine CM-1/CM-2 massively parallel supercomputer;" now she is seeking to do an AR (or perhaps VR) experience of that machine. "I want to go beyond a simple physical model, however, to immerse you in 360° visualizations of the 12-dimensional boolean n-cube network linking the 64k processors together, in visualizations of applications that ran on the machine then, and also contemporary applications that are using concepts of Big Data, Deep Learning etc. that evolved out of the concerns that were driving the development of the Connection Machine back in the '80s."
