German company Trekstor manufactures a line PC accessories including hard drives and flash drives as well as a few other gadgets such as MP3 players and portable speakers.

Now the company is getting into the mini PC space.

TrekStor already offers a line of Windows tablets, but the company’s most recent computer takes the guts of a tablet and puts them into a small box that you can stick by your TV or monitor.

The TrekStor MiniPC W1 is a small box that measures about 3.8″ x 3.8″ x 0.9″. Under the hood it features an Intel Atom Z3735F Bay Trail processor, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of eMMC storage.

On the outside of the case you’ll find two full-sized USB 2.0 ports, a micro USB 2.0 port, HDMI, and 10/100 Ethernet jacks, and a microSDXC card reader. The system supports 802.11b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth and ships with Windows 8.1 software, but it should also support Windows 10.

Over the past year or so, we’ve seen a number of small computers with Intel Atom processors and Windows software. The most notable thing about this particular model may be that it comes from a company that has a bit of name recognition in the West… or at least in Europe.
