This week's new Xbox LIVE game for Windows Phone is "MiniSquadron". It's a 2D flying game where you use a directional joystick on the lower left to fly your plan through different areas while shooting down enemy planes. There are 9 different area levels and about 60 planes that you can unlock to use in the dog fights. Cool power-ups will occasionally fall from the sky and if you catch them you'll either get better weapons, an extra life, invisibility, extra speed, etc. Playing the game is a lot of fun and reminds me a bit of Rocket Riot, except it's a bit slower in terms of the action. Be sure to try the game with the sound on... there's some great classical background music!
