2015 AWS Summit London - Peterborough City Council: Infrastructure Innovation in the Cloud

Richard Godfrey, assistant director for digital at Peterborough, highlights several infrastructure projects and how they are transforming the council top-to-bottom operating model supported by the cloud. He shares how they are engaging with citizens and web and data companies to better deliver services to citizens. One way the council engages using the cloud is a weather program in which the data is mapped to crime, hospital admissions, and more; the program looks at ways to use weather data to change how the city delivers services. He also talks about the council's use of AWS Lambda and how his team embarked on a project to rebuild the council's IT infrastructure based around an entirely new operating model, making as much use as possible of cloud-based services and enabling new technologies.
