On this episode of This Is My Architecture, Dan from Evertz explains how they leverage AWS Cloud's high availability, resilience and the scale to power the broadcast signals for over 160 US-based Discovery's channels for satellite delivery. Broadcast requires much more resiliency and uptime compared to the typical cloud-based media use cases such as streaming/Video-on-demand for mobile devices. Dan talks about an HA architecture across multiple regions as well as redundant Direct Connect links. The transmission of broadcast signal from the AWS cloud to satellite uplink and the industry trend for IP-based video workflows.
