With our API created and the data about our Mysfits persisted, we needed to make some actions through the API available only to users who create accounts and are logged in. We used Cognito to add user sign in, sign up, and other authentication features to our app. Additionally, we utilized AWS Amplify to help us create our user authentication service in Cognito and easily add these features to our web app using the AWS Amplify JavaScript library. We also added certain authorized endpoints such as our “like” and “adopt” actions to our .NET Web API, and we used AWS Amplify to call these API endpoints using credentials from signed in users.
