Using AWS, Guardian reduced its data-center footprint by 80 percent and will be cloud-first for all new applications. Guardian Life is the 11th largest life insurance company in the United States with more than $71B in assets and 26 million customers. The company migrated 200 applications to AWS in just 12 months and is using Amazon Macie and Amazon GuardDuty to ensure its environment remains compliant. The company named AWS as its preferred cloud provider and plans to migrate the majority of its workloads to AWS in the coming years. Dean Del Vecchio, EVP and CIO at Guardian Life, spoke at re:Invent 2018.
