The shared responsibility model of AWS requires tenants to manage the security of virtual infrastructure while cloud providers manage the security of physical infrastructure and hypervisors. While AWS offers many security features for tenants to use, security and DevOps teams managing the virtual infrastructure must still automate and develop complex workflows to keep the infrastructure protected. Serverless technologies help solve this problem. In this talk, Abhinav Srivastaya, Head of Information Security at Frame.io, will describe how the startup is using serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda, SNS, and DynamoDb, to develop workflows for monitoring, alerting, automating compliance checks, and remediation.
