On March 17th, 2009, Apple holds a press conference, in which they quietly release the iPhone 3.0 software to developers - it includes a TON of features that iPhone 3G users have been begging for, so here's a write-up of what I go over in the video:

iPhone 3.0 Software! Available this summer to everyone.

Free upgrade for 3g users but not as many features in the ugreade for 1.0 users. Will cost 10 bucks for iPod touch users. Includes

Turn by turn GPS directions

Push notifications (not really background tasks, but still nice)
