AMD Ryzen 5000 CPUs: Zen 3 is ready to set performance records

AMD’s new Ryzen 5000 CPUs are here, and early signs indicate that there is a lot to like about the new processors – whether you’re a gamer or a content creator.

The latest chips feature a new architecture, Zen 3, designed specifically for low-latency performance in gaming. They are drop-in compatible with 500-series AM4 socket motherboards -- like B550 and X570 and, with a BIOS update, 400 series motherboards like B450), and use the same chipset as AMD’s XT-series processors. Best of all, the performance gains appear substantial — from the low-cost 5600x all the way up to the ultra-powerful 5950x.
