GE Healthcare is driving a digital transformation in healthcare where patients’ lives depend on the speed and accuracy of computing technology. Recently, the company saw a 5x increase in applications and products integrated into its healthcare ecosystem. And with that, came the difficulties of fragmentation across its customers from small hospitals to large government and nationwide healthcare systems, which included a large diversity of devices, data centers, and public and private clouds in heterogeneous environments. oneAPI cross-architecture programming with the ability to create a single codebase that operates across a variety of heterogeneous hardware (Intel CPUs/GPUs, and Nvidia GPUs) helped GE Healthcare overcome fragmentation.

“With oneAPI, you can now develop these solutions once but then actually deploy them with very minimal rework on this very heterogeneous compute fabric with many different computer architectures. That's really powerful and can really be a game-changer for us,” says Roshni Bhagalia, vice president of product management for the Edison Platform at GE Healthcare.
