In this video we introduce the fundamental concepts behind stream processing, in comparison with more familiar ideas like tabular data and batches. We explore the real value of processing data continuously and how concepts like completeness or time semantics, still existing but often forgotten with more traditional approaches, become first-class citizen of our processing model. We see the difference between stateless and stateful processing, the different time semantics. And finally we cover different types of windowing, comparing their implementations with batching and with streaming.
