NCBI Uses Generative AI and AWS to Help People with Sight Loss Access Information

The National Council for the Blind of Ireland (NCBI) worked with Amazon Web Services (AWS) Partner Cation Consulting using generative artificial intelligence (AI) to transform the lives of the 600,000 people it supports. Kyran O’Mahoney, NCBI’s chief technology officer, says the pioneering project has been an amazing success. It’s lessening isolation and allowing parents to educate their children in a secure environment. The solution—which uses Amazon Alexa and Amazon Lex—provides a blueprint for other charities and non-governmental organizations to adopt game-changing voice technology.
