Hiwot Tesfaye is a Technical Advisor in Microsoft’s Office of Responsible AI. She helps bring global perspectives into key AI deliberations, shaping how AI products and systems are developed and deployed, while influencing the policy debates that govern them. Hiwot founded the Microsoft Global Responsible AI Fellows program and works closely with internal governance and product teams to translate responsible AI principles into action.
