For mobile applications, serialized data is a large, and constant chunk of information that you pull from your servers. Every time a user wants to update their social stream, in-memory classes have to get converted to a format that can be sent across the intertubes.
But, hiding in that process is a massive problem of data-bloat.
In this video, Colt McAnlis sheds light into how serializing your data based upon object oriented standards can cause a large amount of size bloat, and make your files compress less efficiently. But like most things the bald guy talks about, there’s an easy fix for you.
