Bestselling author John Connolly took the time to Hangout with fans on +Google Play. John's Charlie Parker novels have been thrilling and slightly terrifying readers for years.
John discusses why an Irish author chose to set his thillers in the US. He uses his Charlie Parker novels, set in Maine, to explore the ideas of evil, justice, compassion and redemption, and loves that the mystery genre allows his to delve into such complex themes.
John's collection of short stories, Nocturnes, allowed him to explore many different voices and gave him a chance to write for teens. Fairytales are incredibly dark, and very few people have tuned into this hunger by teens for darker stories.
