Apple released a minor update for the iOS 9 called iOS 9.0.1 fixing certain issues that were found. We decided to review iOS 9.0.1 on an Apple iPhone 4S. Let’s take a look at what’s new in the OS and also how it performs on the iPhone 4S.
Although the update is a minor update there are many bugs that have been fixed such as users not being able to complete setup assistant, failing of alarms and timers to play, distorted frame in pausing in safari and videos and mobile data loss in users with a custom APN setup using a profile.
Dragging down for app search was visibly very slow. This lag was also seen when scrolling through emojis and also opening up apps like the calculator and the App Store, but these were of course expected as the iPhone 4S is an old smartphone.
Multitasking also seemed to be slow even with only a few simple apps opened. The disappointment is that the multitasking screen performance was better in even the Beta 1 of iOS 9.1 on iPhone 4S than in the official iOS 9. There were certain lagging and slowdown issues in the browsing experience as well.
Although you can run the iOS 9.0.1 on the iPhone 4S it definitely can be better as we have seen with the iOS 9.1 Beta on iPhone 4 S.
