MiUi is an amazingly beautiful custom ROM, based on Android, for various smartphones. It almost entirely re-writes the UI to something that has hints of iOS, but is most certainly its own. The downside of custom ROMs is that one must root their phone, erase its contents, and flash the new ROM -- which typically requires a fair amount of technical expertise, not to mention abandoning your warranty.

Custom launchers, though not as deep-reaching as custom ROMs, can provide a certain level of customization, without having to root or give up your warranty. Such is the case with MiHome Launcher.
