In this video, Jeff Kember and Steve MacPherson cover Google Cloud Storage options, cloud NFS file systems (open source and commercial offerings) and architecting high performance compute environments that take advantage of both CPU and GPU compute options. Though example workloads that they discuss are media oriented (rendering) - the framework they show is common among other HPC workloads, including those in financial services and genomics. In addition, they share industry best practices for choosing VMs, preemptible VMs, and different storage options for high performance, low cost, and robust implementations.
