Zilliqa is a Singapore-based blockchain company that aims to provide a scalable blockchain and smart contract platform for high-throughput applications. The core feature that makes Zilliqa scalable is the sharding technology, where the network is divided into several smaller component networks (called shards) capable of processing transactions in parallel. Using services such as Amazon ECS for Kubernetes, AWS Certificate Manager, Amazon S3, Zilliqa was able to simulate real world situations and quickly set up and bootstrap its testnet environment of 1000 nodes in just 30mins, which meets the scaling requirements of high-traffic applications such as digital advertising, payments, gaming, and sharing economies.
