Nora Altwaijri, a Generation17 Young Leader from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, uses her passion for technology and background in software engineering to support young people who dream of making a positive impact in their communities. Nora developed the Sustainable University Initiative, a website that allows students to learn about the Global Goals and collaborate on solutions, like planting trees or cleaning a local beach. While piloting the website, Nora took her desire to support ambitious young people a step further and launched a grassroots initiative that provides youth with funding and mentorship opportunities. If we utilize technology and the energy of the youth generation, Nora is confident that we can build a future in which sustainability is part of everyday life.

Generation17 is an initiative in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) that aims to harness technology to elevate the voices of young leaders around the globe who are working to achieve the Global Goals.
