Microsoft and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory join forces to accelerate scientific discovery for energy storage solutions. This multi-year collaboration marks the start of an exciting new journey that will bring the power of AI to many aspects of scientific research. Together, the teams have been able to discover and synthesize a new material for resource-efficient batteries in less than nine months. This breakthrough shows the potential of AI, HPC, and quantum computing in the future, to radically accelerate scientific discovery in ways that could speed the way to a clean energy future and all manner of scientific discoveries.
