With many virtual reality headsets available today, ranging from the Quest 3 to the Vision Pro, advances in dedicated PCVR hardware seems to be more iterative than groundbreaking. We test and compare two radically different approaches to PCVR design: the ultra light Bigscreen Beyond 2 and the feature-packed Somnium VR1. Here are the specs that we actually think matter for gaming, and why the ideal headset is so hard to get right.
