HTC’s design team harnessed a two-colour molding technique, giving the product a fun, playful and bold character. Polycarbonate plastics have pigments inside the resin that produce bold and vibrant colors and so, by injecting two of these plastics into one mold, HTC’s design team was able to develop a sophisticated plastic housing that combined the two tones of plastic. Taking inspiration from classic Swiss graphic design and Bauhaus spaceframes, the resulting two colour unibody delivers a graphical contrasting trim. It frames and highlights the most important features of the device such as the screen, buttons and connector openings without compromising the overall look and feel of the device.
