Xigmatek has produced their first computer chassis, the Xigmatek Midgard. With this case, the company is hoping to bring the same modest cost yet performance oriented solution to the desktop user, and offer consumers the complete cooling package all from one company.
The Midgard takes a fairly standard mid tower box design, and adds a unique flare, based on a black and orange colour scheme that really sets it apart. They have added little bits that are intended to make using this case simple. Included is the commonly seen tool-less drive system, along with expansion card retention clips. They have included plenty of dust filters, and while the case may modest in size, the potential is there for it to host a powerhouse of a computer, and keep it cool.
Unfortunately, their quest to create a low cost solution ultimately may have been a little too focused on saving the buck. There is a fine line between creating a case that is price conscious yet still delivers basic quality, and a case that is just plain cheap.
