In the surgical theatre vascular surgeons are relient on live fluroscopy images to guide the opperation procedure. Our team has designed and developed a system for manipulating 3D volumetric vascular renderings. We are working on a second system assisting neurosurgeons with the manipulation of 3D brain scans. The aim of the project is to explore the use of touchless interaction within surgical settings, allowing images to be viewed, controlled and manipulated without contact through the use of camera-based gesture recognition technology.
