Rettinger's Rants: Xbox One and Used Games

Jon R is back with an all new show where he rants and raves on various topics in and out of the tech world. On this week's episode, Jon rants about the Microsoft Xbox One. At this year's E3, Microsoft finally gave us more information on the much anticipated Xbox One. Unfortunately for gaming enthusiast, much of that information was negative. The Xbox One will be priced at $499, making the One $100 more than Sony's PlayStation 4. Even worse, the Xbox One has very complex rules when it comes to used games.

You can no longer lend games your used games to friends unless you transfer ownership to them. This will be a one-time deal so you won't be able to transfer ownership back to you. Used games from retailers like GameStop will only be playable if the game's developer chooses to allow it. Microsoft will enforce these rules by requiring daily internet checks. If for any reason you cannot get online within a 24 hour period, you will be locked out of that game. Sony's approach is much simpler. On the PS4 you are allowed to share your used games with whomever you'd like. No need for online checks or ownership transfers. All this and more in this episode of Rants! tchno.be/12bTm71
