Tools:
• A hard drive or SSD. It’s good to pick one up that’s as big, or bigger, than your current drive.
• Small screwdriver

• A spudger or other small plastic tool to pry open the case
Step 1 – Make sure the notebook is powered off and unplugged. Close the display and turn the system over and remove base cover and the 10 screws that secure the base cover. Using the spudger, pry the cover away from the notebook.

Step 2 – Remove the 2 screws that secure the battery to the palmrest and keyboard. Remove the hard-drive cable from the routing guides on the battery. Lift the battery up and disconnect it from the motherboard. Turn the notebook over and then press and hold the power button for 5 seconds, to ground the system. Disconnect the battery.

Step 3 – Remove the 2 screws that secure the hard-drive to the notebook. Lift the hard-drive along with its cable up away from the motherboard. Using the pull tab, gently disconnect the hard drive’s SATA cable. Remove the screws that secure the hard-drive bracket to the hard drive. Lift the hard drive bracket from the hard drive.

Step 4 - Reassemble your notebook by follow the instructions in reverse. Place the SSD into the hard drive bracket and attach the screws. Reconnect the SATA cable and slide the drive into the slot. Screw the 2 drive case screws back in, insert the battery, reconnect the battery cable and screw in the 2 batter screws into place. Snap the bottom cover back on, and replace the 10 screws.
