Finot-Conq designs fast sailing yachts with AMD EPYC™ processors and Cadence OnCloud

Finot-Conq has been creating fast sailing yachts for 50 years, with over 45,000 boats produced from its designs. Utilizing Cadence’s Fine Marine and Finot-Conq’s own Velocity Prediction Program with 400,000 CPU hours from Cadence’s OnCloud alongside a dual-socket 3rd Gen AMD EPYC™ 7773X on-premises server, the company was able to reduce the number of calculations per design from between 100 and 200 to fewer than ten. This enabled twice as many CFD simulations in a month for faster design output.
