This Wood-Turned Cup Is Actually 74 Cups! (at @metmuseum)

During our most recent visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Adam Savage spent an ENTIRE DAY at the @metmuseum's Department of Objects Conservation, which is responsible for the physical care and technical study of three-dimensional works of art. And to kick off this series is this EXTRAORDINARY wooden cup filled with 73 identical cups, each turned on a lathe individually from 74 pieces of maple. What's going on here?
