While visiting Smithsonian's @airandspace Museum recently, Adam Savage stopped by the Futures in Space exhibition to visit an old friend, his R2-D2. Curator Matt Shindell gets the story behind R2's multiyear build -- started when Adam was working at ILM and had access to the original Kenny Baker model -- and explains just how he and his team prepared R2 for its long-term display!
