Here goes another speed test and this one is between the new Apple iPhone 6s and the Samsung Galaxy S5, the Samsung flagship phone of 2014. Let’s see if the iPhone 6S released in 2015 beats the S5 in terms of speed and performance.
During the experiment, the iPhone 6S was running iOS 9.0.2 and the Galaxy S5, Android 5.0.0. We conducted an internet speed test using the Speedtest app by Ookla. The test was started first on the Galaxy S5 and the results were really good with a 170.33 Mbps download speed and 150.70 Mbps upload speed. When the test was done on the iPhone 6S, the results were 95.71Mbps download speed and 137.77Mbps upload speed. Although low, these won’t make a huge different in day to day usage of the phone but will affect you if you download a lot of torrents.
After changing the server in both the devices, the test was conducted again. The download and upload speeds that were obtained came up to 29.74 and 58.48 Mbps in the S5. But in the iPhone 6S, while the download speed was only 20.90Mbps, the upload speed reached up to 151.63Mbps proving that the 6S works well even in slower servers.
The third server gave 82.15 and 150.17 download and upload speeds on the Galaxy S5 and 33.65 and a massive 193.14 on the iPhone 6s. So in conclusion it was visible that the upload speed is extremely good in the iPhone6S and the download speed is better in the Samsung S5.
