Welcome to part one of a six-part series called The Android toolbox where we'll be taking you through some Android essentials. In this episode, we cover how to get multimedia to your device. Of course you can rip DVDs and CDs and transfer them to your device from your computer, or you can use a variety of streaming and low-cost subscription services. For video, check out Netflix, Hulu+, and of course YouTube. For audio, Pandora, Spotify, Rdio, and Rhapsody all have fantastic options.
You can always buy content directly from Google Play, but the cost of one album can easily be higher than the cost of one month with a music subscription service. While the subscription services don't allow you to own the content, some, like Spotify, let you download offline music, so as long as you continue to pay the low monthly subscription fee, you always have great music (and video) available to you.
