Solus 1.2.1 Shannon has been released by Solus Project brings the latest Budgie Desktop 10.2.8 as default desktop environment, also offering MATE desktop 1.16 and powered by Linux Kernel 4.8. This release introduces a new Budgie applet for use via the Budgie panel, called the Places Indicator Applet and volume popover for the volume applet.On-Screen Displays for Brightness and Sound have received improvements to design.

Solus 1.2.1 comes with improvements in the Software Center. The latest update has the ability to automatically index latest files from the Solus repository. Logical Volume Manager (LVM) and encryption via LUKS are now a mere couple clicks away in the new Installer and support packages from the GNOME 3.20.
