On the next This Is My Architecture, Kris from Ixia, a Keysight Business, explains how they built a scalable, cloud-native network data capture and analysis solution on AWS. Customers needing deep packet inspection for large environments sometimes struggle with how to scale and manage their solution. Ixia solves this with a serverless SaaS backend combined with a horizontally-scaling data plane that can scale to support 10s of thousands of secure connections. They achieve this scale by leveraging AWS IoT, API Gateway, Lambda, and Elasticsearch for the management layer, plus an agent-based design using Docker containers and point-to-point VPN connections between packet capture and analysis nodes.
