Port of Kokkola utilizes Nokia technology that has been deployed by Edzcom to improve efficiency and sustainability in the three ports. Information from a big variety of sources is compiled and analyzed for the benefit of many parties operating in the port. Real time loading information enable vessels to arrive just on time when there is a free slot at the quay, which saves fuel. Sensor information trigger fuel refilling and emptying waste water tanks.
