With Chromecast you can show whatever is on your Windows or Mac screen on a TV! Make sure you have all of the necessary hardware and software. You will need a TV with an HDMI input, Google Chromecast which should run you about $35: google.com/chromecast/tv/chrom... , and a Mac or Windows PC with the Chrome browser google.com/chrome/browser (no need for the extension, it is now built in to the browser). Make sure the Chromecast and computer are connected to the same home network. Open up the Chrome browser, select Cast… from on the drop down, and then the Cast icon will appear. Click the icon and then select the Chomecast device and the source (such as the current browser tab or your desktop). The Cast icon will only appear if the browser can see the Chomecast on the network. Mobile apps will also show the Cast icon if they can see a Chromecast connected. They included apps like YouTube, Hulu, and Netflix for iOS or Android. Here is the full list: google.com/intl/en_us/chromeca...

Not only is it great for watching video on your home TV when the video can only plays in web browser but you can also use it for school or work presentations. Keep in mind that if you’re casting any audio from your desktop, it will only work from Windows PCs. You can still broadcast photos, documents, presentations and other things from Macs but no audio can be sent in the current version of the hardware and software.
So what webpages or desktop apps are you looking forward to seeing on TV? Let us know in the comments. If you have an old Android tablet lying around and want to put it to good use? Check out this video for some ideas: youtube.com/watch?v=k-D5PdHaYc...
